Lab: Secure IoT cloud in Packet Tracer
Register devices securely with the Packet Tracer IoT server and prove unauthorised devices are rejected.
Objective
Connect simulated IoT devices to the IoT server using secure registration, then test that an unauthorised device is rejected.
Steps
- Build a small topology: gateway, switch, IoT server, and at least two devices.
- Configure the IoT server with a strong administrative password.
- Enable secure registration and create device credentials.
- Register the authorised devices and confirm they appear in the dashboard.
- Attempt to register an unconfigured device and record the failure.
- Capture screenshots of successful and failed registration.
